City of Pittsburgh Historic Preservation Award
The lower portion of the 19th century Victorian building had been completely altered and replaced with a brick façade.
Following URA guidelines for historical façade restoration, the design takes its cue from the original roof fascia and brick details to create a new wood and glass storefront. Additional work includes brick cleaning and re-pointing, repair and repainting of the wood work, and the creation of a new side entrance to add more retail visibility to the Café. New side entrance doors towards the rear of the building leading to the upper floor apartments complete the design.
