City of Pittsburgh Historic Preservation Award
The addition of recessed lighting in the new stainless steel band and up-lights with colored lenses to highlight the corner entrance add drama to the building as typical of Art Deco architecture.
Mirrored glass at the tower windows reflect the sky during the day, while at night, back- lighting shines through red filters to turn the tower into a beacon.
The color scheme of the stucco banding gradually becomes lighter in shade as it moves upwards towards the top of the building, further highlighting the organizational geometry of the building.
