City of Pittsburgh Historic Preservation Award and National Registry of Historical Places
The program called for the restoration of the 1874 Neo-Classical firehouse to obtain Pittsburgh historical designation and listing on the National Registry of Historical Places.
The design recreates the missing cornice along the side façade, brick cleaning and re-pointing, repair of all woodwork, windows and doors. To achieve better insulating value, the window sashes were routed to receive a double glazed unit. Based on historical research the new wood doors replicate original design.
