New four-unit sustainable residential tower on Mt. Washington site designed to maximize full views of downtown Pittsburgh and the three rivers. Following city planning, zoning and community approval, the design maintians the sightlines to views for adjoining buildings.
The project design aims at total energy independence by reducing energy needs through passive energy strategies and by on-site energy generation through the use of solar panels and urban wind turbines. The project includes an underground garage, a first floor for shared activities, four loft-style units with twenty foot ceilings to allow the additions of mezzanines, cascading outdoor rooms towards on the south façade and enclosed porches towards the noisier and colder north façade.
