City of Pittsburgh Historic Preservation Award

The lower portion of the 19th century Victorian building had been completely altered and replaced with a brick and glass façade. Following URA guidelines for historical façade restoration and guided by the still intact upper roof fascia, the original door leading to the upper floor apartments, and an old photo of the original storefront, the design adds a new wood and glass storefront, restores the fascias, woodwork and metal roof decoration. Additional work includes brick cleaning and re-pointing, and restoration of the original door and transom leading to the upper floors.
